Our Origin
Where Our Story Began
Our family’s coffee farming journey began in our childhood days where we spent time harvesting, washing, drying, and hand-sorting coffee alongside our mother, after our father left the farm in search of better opportunities in the city.
When the 2016 Anglophone crisis struck the region, every economic activity across the region collapsed for over a decade, farming became a lifeline. Many other communities equally turned back to farming for survival, reclaiming long-abandoned coffee farms that now produce some of Africa’s best award-winning natural single-origin coffees.
Founded in honor of our father’s legacy, the ABAQUA COFFEE team aims at bridging the gap between these remote hinterland farms and coffee lovers around the world.
Leveraging expertise in procurement and logistics the ABAQUA COFFEE team seeks to connect remote, coffee farmers in the hinterlands to global markets thereby reviving abandoned best naturally grown farms, and improving the livelihood of local producers.
